OUR APPROACH.

Acutus’ strategy framework guides our approach to developing strategies for our clients, and provides a clear representation of how the various components of an organisation come together in pursuit of its strategic objectives.

We understand that all organisations are different; this framework provides the building blocks for strategy which need to be aligned with distinct emphasis to reflect the unique context of our clients.

Strategic Objective

The strategic objective is the ‘north star’ for what our clients want to achieve in the period of the strategy. It must be quantifiable, measurable, and clearly understood.

Key questions to resolve include:

  • What does success look like for our stakeholders?

  • What is our financial objective?

  • What is our growth objective?

  • What are our constraints?

  • What role do we want to play in our community?

  • How will we measure success and know what we have achieved?

Where to Play

This aspect of the framework defines the markets our clients compete in, the products they take to market, and the channels used to deliver value to customers. The clear articulation of where we don’t play is equally important.

Key questions to resolve include:

  • What markets do we play in?

  • Where are our best financial / growth opportunities?

  • What products or services do we need to retain or develop to succeed in these markets?

  • Who are our target customers, and what is our value proposition to them?

  • What is our go-to-market approach?

  • Which are the most effective channels?

  • Which partners could best help us service our chosen markets?

How to Win

This section defines the people, culture, structure, process, and assets that our clients need to deliver their strategies. Beyond this, it also considers the capabilities that are needed (including those our clients need to attract) in order to win.

Key questions to resolve include:

  • What capabilities and culture do we need in our people to succeed?

  • What organisation structure will best suit our strategy?

  • How can we best deploy capital to achieve our objectives?

  • What processes and delivery capabilities do we need to deliver on our plans?

  • What assets and infrastructure (physical and technology) do we need?

  • What actions and initiatives do we need to pursue to win?

Communication & Measurement

Effective execution of strategy requires clear communication. Organisations need to define what they want to communicate, to whom, and how they intend to align internal and external stakeholders. The strategic plan must also have clear measures of success that are tracked.

Key questions to resolve include:

  • Who do we want to communicate our strategy to?

  • What do we want or need to convey to these groups?

  • What is the most effective and efficient way to communicate?

  • How do we ensure our people have understood our plans, and are aligned to our strategy?

  • How do we measure and track our progress?
